In 2007, Shutter Shades Inc., created a design of fashion sunglasses and called it shutter shades. True to its name, these types of shades basically look like shades with shutters. Shutter shades, instead of having lenses, have a shutter, which is part of the frame itself. These shades target both men and women of all ages.

Shutter shades sunglasses are available with lenses that are resistant to UV rays as well. However, more models of these shades do not have lenses. They have a lot of styles of shutters ranging from slants to colors of shutters like white, black, red, blue, green, pink, yellow, orange, purple and sky blue models.

These are predominantly used by the younger generation and by fashion-conscious people. Thanks to the hit song, Stronger by Kanye West, shutter shades established as a part of pop culture. Their trendy collection stirred a lot of interest and this led to their new addition in 2008, the glow-in-the-dark collection. Their success seems to be evident now that they are venturing into the apparel and accessories segment as well.
